Leading Neuroscientist Says Rolling Eyes at Someone Means You Are Trying to Make Sure Your Brain is Still There, Plus Other Facial Conundrums

Facial expressions have been reexamined by leading neuro-scientist Dr. B.S. Sayer. She studied subjects while they watched speakers contradict themselves seconds after a statement. Dr. Sayer discovered that the subjects were suffering a mild short-circuit in the brain’s frontal lobe. This prompted their eyes to roll in an attempt to look inside the head to make sure the brain was still intact. Currently, Dr. Sayer is working on the theory that yawning is an involuntary jaw exercise in preparation for an all-you-can-eat buffet binge.

Also in the works, winking is being classified as an extended one-eyed blink that is a failed attempt at bewitching someone. Dr. B.S. Sayer has a Go-Fund-Me page and is always looking for research donors. Past studies include: “Sneezing: A Greedy Way to Hog All the Oxygen in the Room” and “Raising an Eyebrow: Sibling Rivalry Between the Eyes.”
